Optimism for a solid real estate market in central Denver
The year 2006 was solid in central Denver real estate. Kentwood City Properties, which specializes in the central Denver neighborhoods, ended the year with nearly $400 million in sales production. This sales volume reflects an increase of nearly 40% over 2005, and offsets a trend seen in some suburban communities and elsewhere in the country where a slow down in housing sales occurred.
As I talk with other business leaders about what we are seeing in the market place, I come away with a general consensus that 2007 may well be a banner year for the housing market in central Denver. The City is well poised for continued growth and is spending money on infrastructure and other improvements.
The excitement over the 2008 Democratic National Convention coming to Denver helps endorse that sentiment. Our city is gathering momentum and is in the process of gaining national exposure for a wonderful place to live and work.
