Downtown Denver is Dog Friendly!
Urban Denver Dog Owners have great amenities, trails, and services available.
Dog owners living in downtown Denver find that we have just about everything we need to keep our pooches content. Check out this list of essentials – all available to the urban dweller and their 4-legged friends -
We call the short loop around the neighborhood the "poop loop" – there are many. And we are blessed with great parks – very social time for dogs – who needs a yard.
We have the Platte River and Cherry Creek – great place to run or walk your dogs.
Bird dogs have great hunting and setting possibilities along river: pigeons, blue heron, ducks, geese even hawks etc.
It seems like the majority of people living downtown have dogs – it is so easy to find a neighbor that will pet sit while you are out of town
Many Doggy Day Care centers including City Bark and Dogtopia, etc. are located near by in the Prospect, Baker, RiNo, and Highlands neighborhoods
Several offices allow you to bring dogs to work: Chipotle for example just built this into their new lease at 1401 Wynkoop
Coming soon : Railyard Dogs off leash dog park at 19th and Little Raven
Great pet spa on Larimer Square
Great pet store in Riverfront Park – Pet Out Fitters
We have many restaurants where you can sit outside and have your dog join you – Dixons!
Even the Bank of the West says pets welcome
So close to home if you work downtown, you can go home a few times a day and take the dog out, etc.
Fitter Critters will take dog out and even take them for a run (call Amy Williams at 303-744-0831). I am sure there are others too.
We even have a dog friendly furniture store – the Livable Home – with very cool furniture and pet friendly fabrics.
The City has provided poop bag dispensers along Cherry Creek and in parks.
Most residential buildings do allow dogs in the condo docs. There are only a few older high rises that are pet free buildings.
Pet Solutions – patio astro turf for high rises and lofts buildings- for emergencies
Hale Security pet doors – add them to your patio door for emergencies.
