Buying a Second Home in Mexico an interesting experience

We recently had to take a quick, unexpected trip to Mexico to close on the transfer of the lot into the Trust.  We hired attorneys to review all the documentation, and they, too needed to travel on short notice to review and comment and verify that all was in order.  It was an exhausting process and tested our resolve.  The wire transfers didnt come through on time, and everyone was on edge.

Fortunately for those who purchase a home or second home in Denver, the process is simpler and the contracts are standardized.  There are enormous resources, and Realtors that specialize in the neighborhoods and products.  Kentwood City Properties, for example, specializes in the central Denver neighborhoods, which includes many condo and loft style products that lend themselves to second home buyers from the mountain communities.

It is interesting to compare it to a purchase of a home or second home in the States.  As Realtors, I often comment that we should occassionally or frequently go through the process so that we see up close the difficult process that our clients go through in their purchase or sale of a home.  It can be an emotional process for the client.

The process is much simpler, and often the attorneys do not even become aware of the purchase agreement unless a problem arrises, which occurs infrequently.

Purchasing or selling real estate can be stressful, but change is almost always for the better.  I always feel gratitude toward the Realtor that keeps things simple, explains the process well, and keeps the drama to a miniumum.  "no surprises" in the process means that you will think back on the process with satisfaction and confidence that the change you brought into your life was for the better.
