Does it make more sense for the high-profile 75-acre Central Platte Valley
parcel to remain an amusement park, or is it prime for redevelopment into urban
housing and office complexes?
That is the question posed for the land Elich Gardens currently
resides on.
Developers see a better use for the land. City officials remain neutral.
Industry experts and analysts say the park is profitable and should continue to
be so as the industry grows.
There is no doubt that the area bordering Elitch's is booming, with high-end
housing projects such as the Glass
House and Art House residences
commanding top dollar. But it was a different story in the early 1990s.
